Whether you’re heading to the country for a festival themed wedding or into the city for a chic celebration, finding the perfect outfit can be a challenge. We’re here to share our favourite wedding guest tips, so all you have to think about is helping the happy couple celebrate (with a prosecco or three).
The prep:
Getting ready for a wedding usually means something more than your usual night-out attire. We recommend starting your prep the day before, so you can focus on getting your makeup and hair perfect on the day.
- Start by prepping your skin. Exfoliate, shave and moisturise (we love our award-winning three-step shaving system for this step!)
- Tweeze your brows
- Take care of any unwanted facial hair (our facial wax strips are your go-to)
- If you’re tanning, now’s the time to add your glow. Use a high-quality fake tan for the best results
- Paint your nails (and don’t forget your toenails!)
Outfit ideas: festival weddings
Festival weddings are a little more relaxed, but that doesn’t make finding an outfit any less stressful. We love a boho style for rustic weddings. Think flowy florals, bold patterns and comfortable fabrics. Tailoring is not your friend for festival weddings, so avoid anything likely to crease (and definitely leave your fascinator at home). You might want to think about the evening too, especially if it’s an outdoor wedding. Consider bringing a jacket if you think you might get chilly.
In terms of footwear, it’s usually best to avoid stilettos at festival weddings. Pick a chunky block heel or a wedge to avoid sinking into the grass.
Outfit ideas: city weddings
City weddings are so much fun, and give you the option to get creative with your outfit. If you know the event is going to be formal, it’s time to go all-out with your look. Pick something chic and tailored, and accessorise with bold accessories. We love jumpsuits and trouser suits for city weddings, as well as silky wrap dresses and midis. You might want to add a hat or fascinator, depending on the occasion.
Outfit ideas: church weddings
If the happy couple is getting married in a church, it’s worth thinking carefully about your outfit. While things are pretty relaxed these days, some people prefer to be considerate and respectful with their outfit choice. You might want to cover up a bit more and choose a midi dress instead.
Outfit ideas: country weddings
From stately homes to grand hotels, country weddings are often chic occasions. They tend to be a blend of rustic and elegant, so it’s worth opting for a wedding guest outfit that works in both camps. We love light and summery midi floral dresses and form-fitting midis. Accessorise yours with colourful accessories and a statement fascinator for maximum impact.
